Syzygium

An enormous rainforest tree with a dense canopy, thick trunk, and deep tap root which helps keep it anchored through waterlogging and cyclones.

The trees shade the western side of the house from the harsh summer sun, and withstand waterlogging for days or weeks at a time. They provide habitat to the many birds that visit or reside in their branches. Their fallen branches and leaf litter are home to many a creature, among those I have seen are a northern bandicoot, a nest of brown quail in a former year, and of course, various snakes.

This planting is in the [22] Rainforest garden .

Already in my garden (I didn't plant it)
