creeping dogwood, or bunchberry      

Don’t know about this one – it likes moist places that get morning or afternoon sun. I offered it well-drained woodlands in dappled shade where the may flowers seemed happy (though aren’t blooming). I like the idea of the berries, though they sound quite bland – and yet useful to thicken jams and jellies, so that would be fun to try. :) Of course, they only bloom if they get enough sunlight….!

It looked beautiful for a month or two, made my heart happy, and then it, too, disappeared. I have ravenous forest chipmunks or something…..
