Plant Basil Ocimum basilicum 8060

Care Instructions

Try for a seed spacing of at approx. 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.12 inches (0.3 cm) if planning to sow direct.

Basil normally grows to a mature height of 45.0 cm (that's 1.46 feet imperial) so ensure you have enough space in your garden for this plant.

Your garden is in partial sun light: Basil enjoys a full sun position, so make adjustments where necessary.

Remember to water moderately.

Your garden's USDA Hardiness Zone (7b) is within the ideal range for Basil. The recommended range is between Zone 4 and 10.

Ensure your soil has a ph of between 6.0 and 7.5 as Basil is a acidic to alkaline soil loving plant.

This was the most vigorous basil I’ve ever had, though that’s not saying much as sweet basil and I don’t get along all that well. Still, it’s good to know that growing it from seed is worth it. The taste was exemplary.

Starter garden > Herb garden These basil plants are so tiny still. We’ll see if being in sunshine (what we have of it) and a warm pot helps them along.
