Correa 'Dusky Bells'

Low spreading shrub, dense foliage, salmon pink tubular bells most of the year, especially winter-spring. Prune regularly. The Austraflora Book of Australian Plants, Molyneux & Forrester]

Strike rate from cuttings quite good.

March 26, 2011: I was weeding today and discovered this correa was dead. Yes, can’t believe I didn’t notice earlier. Still correas are one of the native species that don’t give much warning of their coming demise.

The pity is I have only one small shrub left of the cuttings I struck. Gave the others away as presents/gifts.

It seems that correas also don’t like wet feet. Still, it had a good run – 14 years.
