2008 – We purchased 20 seeds. Planted 3 and all 3 successfully took.
Directions from package (note, this slip simply says “tomato”):
Sow indoors in a warm, well-light area, 3-5 weeks before last spring fros. Sow seeds evenly & cover with 1/4” of seed starting mix. Keep moist. Seedlings emerge in 7-14 days. Transplant when plants have 2 leaves.
I’ve noticed Amazon/Hirt’s has gone to “we don’t know when this will be available again” on the site. Interesting.
What we did:
About 6 weeks before last frost, we planted in a Planter’s Pride cell seed starter kit. This is the kit broken into 72 squares with flat discs. The discs are soaked in water and expand to reveal round individual panting “units.” We planted 1 seed per disc. The planter cell starter kit was kept near a window for sun.
This planting is in the Backyard Left Side garden .
Sown from my Black Sea Man Tomato Seeds.
