Quick veggie update

26 May 2010
Rainy 12°C / 53°F

Quick update on carrots and spinach after a long day of heavy rain.

Image 1: Spinach started inside is doing well, finally holding itself up somewhat decently. The leaves are darkening and I’m thinking I’ll pick the outermost ones this weekend and make a salad, or sauté some with pasta. Can’t wait!

Image 2: The outdoor sown spinaches (wk1, wk2) held up against the rain pretty well since they’re much closer together. I was able to just “fluff” them up a bit to pick the wet leaves off the ground.

Image 3: Week 1 sown carrots (nantes, baby) showing off their pretty little carrot leaves.

Image 4: Little Finger carrots (wk2) showing true leaves.

Image 5: Purple Dragon carrots (wk2) showing true leaves.
