I did a clean and weed in the Herb Garden this morning. It had stopped raining and this was a cool and shady place for an hour or so until the sun came around and brought the muggies, bugs and mosquitos. The soil was wet, heavy and soggy but the weeds came out fairly easily. I planted out the rest of the new herb plants that needed to go in here and did some general tidying up. I was going to put down some mulch, but it got too hot. I’ll try to do that tomorrow.
+ Pulled up the sunken pots where I had sown the Jack-in-the-Pulpit seeds. There was no sign that these had done anything. I could not find the seeds, so I think they are gone.
+ Planted the herbs I got from the recent swap with smitties (Gardenweb) – Lemon Thyme, Chocolate Mint; and planted the Anise Mint I got from the trade with John McAfee (which I think is Anise Hyssop).
+ Cut several several stalks of Comfrey for drying.
+ Planted Purple Ruffles Basil and put the pot of Prostrate Rosemary in the bed.
+ Placed both pots of Chives and Garlic Chives in the bed.
no evidence of any germination. removed pots
