Jacob's Cattle Bean Sprouting

17 Jun 2009
Overcast 19°C / 66°F

I love beans and having never grown them before I’m pretty excited about getting sprouts. These are neat looking, too.

I’m also glad the nasturtium is sprouting. I tried these up front last year and they never grew past the seedling stage. They did well in the containers so I’m hoping that since the soil in the greens bed is much better they might do well here. They are also reported to repel aphids, which I have an abundance of this year. It will be an experiment.

I’ve really enjoyed watching my beans grow too. They’re really nothing special to look at – they’re just beans. But for some reason they’re one of my faves to watch progress!
