In honor of Happibun - Mondo's third-world Mojito

06 Jul 2008
Overcast 18°C / 65°F

Happibun, you have surely placed a smile upon many a Folian’s face by sharing your latest gardening project with all of us. Indeed, what a labor of love to bring the wonderful idea you had for a patio into reality. You have done a bang-up job! (Remember when it was bang-down?).

Your gardening buddies will be there in spirit as you christen this new and very special space that you have created. Congratulations!

As per your request, I’m sending along my infamous Mojito recipe. We raise our glasses to you. Mes homage mon ami Anglais. Cheers!

Thank you for sharing your recipe. Spearmint grows so fast; it’s always nice to have something else to do with it. Unfortunately, I’ve always had bad luck with the back of the spoon; I’ll have to actually purchase a muddler one of these days.

Thanks Cmangus. Unfortunately I misplaced my muddler in the process of documenting this recipe and frankly am lost without it. A spoon just doesn’t cut it for me. I cannot officially inaugurate Mojito season on the west coast without the proper tools!

Honestly Robert, this is the best mojito I’ve ever had! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. It’s the perfect refresher for a steaming hot day … I just hope the non-alcoholic version is equally refreshing, otherwise I’ll be sauced all summer long ;D

Oh dear…Mojitos have become “my” drink. and last season was the first I made one, and I had my own mint. I am in dire need of a muddler! and in my silly ways, I have been thinking of widdling a muddler myself out of…any food safe wood…would that be teak? maple? just for kicks. :)
