Botanus summer order

05 Feb 2019
Clear -13°C / 9°F

I hummed and hawed about ordering after last years disappointments but I know that getting Begonias or any lily other than Hemerocalli is difficult.
So today, on this brilliantly sunny and cold day when the wind has finally slowed a little, I sat down with the catalogue and ordered: 3 varieties of Begonia; African Queen Trumpet Lily, Beverly’s Dream Oriental Trumpet Lily and Forever Susan Asiatic Lily and Phlox paniculata Blue Paradise all for Centre; Garden Party Oriental Patio Lily and a freebee Asiatic Patio Lily Buzzer for Porch. Last year’s Patio Lily planted in a pot did nothing beyond grow some leaves! One never knows what interesting things Hard Rock Nursery and Cricket will come up with at the Farmers Market so I am sure that those are not the only plants I will buy this year.

Good luck with them all, Rainymountain!

Lilies in pots seem to do well here, but haven’t had much luck with phlox.
