Yesterday a good downpour but no storm despite a continuing severe thunderstorm watch. The raingauge shows 0.25" and the new Hellebore that was lying down is standing up again. I think that it is the heat rather than lack of water. The rain brought down some twigs and other debris and broke two stems of the Dahlia Karma Choc, which I cut off and put in a vase.
It seems as though we will get some cooler, cloudier weather with, possibly, showers. I should take advantage to resettle some plants and do some weeding.
