The Helianthus plants are huge, and finally have their first flowers – yay! :)
The Pyracantha berries have recently undergone a rapid color change, from greenish-yellow to bright orange. The result is quite striking.
Today I visited two nurseries (Brownswood and Hyam’s) and picked up a ‘Huntington Carpet’ rosemary plant at Brownswood and a loquat tree and a Tifblue blueberry bush at Hyam’s. Neither nursery had Rugosa roses.
Brownswood had some very nice looking Woodard blueberry bushes and pomegranate trees in large containers (but their loquats looked sad). I plan to stop there again in the spring, after I’ve finished converting some of our backyard from lawn into orchard and blueberry beds.

The berries went from greenish-yellow to fluorescent orange within a week!
