First Day of Summer 2011!!!

21 Jun 2011
26°C / 78°F

Finally some sun and warmth!! The last (small) warm spell started to finally awaken the blueberry “twigs”, I’m hoping this next few days gives them a real shot in the arm. Especially the “Pink Lemonade”, which I’m am not entirely sure has made it.

Big picture is the current highlight of the garden, the co-joined flower on the Cherokee Purple tomato. This was the only plant of the 4 I started to make it, so I guess he is trying to over-compensate for his lost brothers!

I wanted to try the pink lemonade blueberries but couldn’t find room for them! That flower really is a mutant.

The pictures don’t do it justice. You can’t really see the unopened blossoms in the center of the “ring”

There’s a whole lot of growing going on! Congratulations – especially after this all-time record-breaking cold Spring here in the PNW. Rather curious about your “Egyptian Mint” – more info please?

@Louise It is also called “Apple Mint” or “Wooly Mint”. Large (2"), pubescent leaves. Grows up to 3 feet tall. The most vigorous mint I have. Not very strongly flavored in my opinion, but my wife likes it.

Thanks Erikin for the mint info. Believe it or not, I’m taking/making notes for future planting plans & ideas. Daft really as I have my work cut out in the “existing” garden! Thanks again.
