At the end of last week I noticed that the spinach leaves were starting to turn to that tell-tale spear shape. I lifted up the row covers yesterday to inspect everyone, and most of them are close to flowering! We had several 80 degree days last week, and now it is back to 60s/70s, but I think my greens are pretty much done. I pulled out the majority of the spinach to make room for the happy chard and green onions. I was finally able to find the arugula and tatsoi though!
I’ve never had good luck with this spinach in the spring – maybe it’s a better fall candidate.
