Seed Swaps

Hello from Adelaide!!

Just a quick hello from SA. Spring has finally sprung after a glorious cold, wet winter and it’s time to get stuck into it again.

To that end, my husband and I are madly creating new beds for our fruit trees and edible hedges. Starting to think about incorporating veggies/herbs with them. We chose not to have a dedicated veggie bed due to space issues and instead will plant our edibles among our ornamental trees and shrubs. I’ll let you know how it all goes!!

Our fruit trees at present include:

Brown Turkey fig
White Adriatic fig
Elberta peach
O’Henry peach
Moorpark apricot
Flavourcrest nectarine
Black Mulberry
Lemonade lemon
Imperial Mandarin
Kaffir lime

Cheers!

Hi kaypee, It’s a nice collection of fruit trees you have there. The only variety name I recognize is Moorpark though, it’s a golden oldie if ever there was.
We certainly have had a teaser when it’s come to the weather, great rains and most recently, some lovely warm days. It should see your trees off to a good start.

There’s nothing wrong with squeezing the veggies in where you can either, it sounds like a plan!
Good luck and hopefully the follow up weather is just as inspiring.
