On the north side of the house, this is a bed divided by a narrow volcanic rock access path. It’s not actually very shady in the mid- to late summer, late afternoon to evening hours. Things are a little crowded and moss has made itself at home. At the same time, it has some gaps in bed 2, the outermost, and a lack of what you might call organization.
My 2007 notes comment particularly on the saxifrage flowers coming up through the brunnera. The corydalis is marvelous, blooming for a very long time. Hellebores are blooming now.
