This garden was started in the spring of 2010. The soil was/is incredibly rocky and I spent weeks clearing rocks and digging down to plant potatoes. The original plan (which I followed pretty closely, though only got 2/3 of the are planted in 2010) based on companion planting and includes a seating area and perennials garden in the centre which has not yet been completed. Each of the beds is 3′ × 7′ and the pathways are 1’ wide. The planted area of the garden measures roughly 50′ × 50′ overall.
In 2011 I am growing cover crops on another 50′ × 50′ area to be converted to vegetable, berry, and fruit tree production in 2012.
