The first trifoliate has formed and it’s 15 centimeters (6 inches) in height. But the stem is so thin, I am worried it will not survive long enough to fruit. The leaves look green and healthy. Has anyone encountered this problem? Can any exp...

True leaves! True leaves! True leaves! I am so happy now. Finally some achievements! Half a dozen beans for my second batch of edamame seeds and only one survived this far. The other two may have sprouted but so badly plagued by mold I don’t...

Finally! A sign of life. Out of 6 seeds I sowed only one showed a sign of life. Yesterday, the outer skin of the bean burst opened and the roots begin to burrow its way into the ground. It’s so exciting to see the roots form. I can’t w...

I don’t know if I have been a little overly enthusiastic about growing edamame, it all died. The beans rot over the weekend and what’s left is now mush. I had high hopes that it would grow well since I have previous experience growing ...
