Snow Pea 'Dwarf Grey Sugar' growing and care instructions

Purple flowers. The short, flat pods are pale green, sweet and stringless. Peas are tender, crisp and sweet. Stir-fry or add to soup. Young pods can be used in salad. Use this variety for pea shoots, a delicious delicacy. from the seed packet:

This heirloom, edible-podded snow pea produces sweet, crunchy pods that are eaten whole before the peas inside develop. Harvest in 65 days.

Growing Tips: For best results, sow seed directly outdoors in full sun, in spring or fall, when temperatures are cool. Scatter seeds at the rate of 1-2 seeds every 2 inches. After germination, thin to 1 plant every 2 inches. Bush plants require little support. harvest and use as soon as pods are filled out.

Uses: Delicious fresh from the garden, cooked alone or with other vegetables. Freezes well.

Suggestion: To save space after peas are harvested, plant beans, summer squash, carrots or another warm-season vegetable.

Introduced in 1892 by D. M. Ferry & Company. Broad pale-green 3-4" pods are stringless, fiber-free and well suited for steaming or used in stir-fry. Vines are 24-30" and do not require staking, beautiful purple blossoms.
