Artichoke - Green Globe Improved - 2008 Showing True Leaves and Herb garden
When I was reading about growing artichokes there were several writers who said that suckers/shoots would come off older plants and these would be better for flowers (the actual chokes). I had the usual ignorant response: Uh, ok… What I didn’t realize until I saw it today is that, l...

Shallots: Does the number of "leaves" equal the number of bulbs?

Shallot - "Gourmet French" and Raised Bed 2 garden

    Where is the rosemary?

    Rosemary/ Rosmarin
Hmm, no rosemary seedlings yet. Does it really take that long till the seedlings emerge? I wonder whether I should start a 2nd attempt… Unfortunately my package doesn’t say anything about how long it usually takes.

    White fungusy stuff

With the recent span of rainy days (isn’t it supposed to be sunny?) coupled with really humid conditions, I suspect that my soil has been infected with some random patches of fungus. It’s happening below my pots too. White stuff. I’ve sprayed commercial white oil on it (label sa...

    Mystery sprouts abound

Eggplant Black Beauty Showing True Leaves and Potted garden
Even the ones I had labeled. The cells labeled New Ace Green Pepper and Black Cherry Tomato appear to be eggplants?, I’m assuming the Black Beauties, as the Pingtungs are still quite small. Anyway, any thoughts?
