Sacred lotus 'Sacred Red'

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water very often. Keep in mind when planting that Sacred Red is thought of as hardy, so this plant will grow or become dormant during the winter.

Nick dimple end until u see white/beige. Use a file, concrete floor, sandpaper, Stanley knife, etc; put in glass of water. It will swell up and then send a leaf up. Best planted when 2-3 leaves. Sow at a depth of approx. 1.98 inches (5.08 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 2.64 feet (81.28 cm) between Sacred lotus plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 20°C / 68°F to ensure good germination.

As Sacred Red is hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
