Golden lotus vine is part of the Lotus genus. Its scientific name is Lotus berthelotii.

Low-growing trailing tropical groundcover plant. Has orange-red to scarlet, rarely bicolored (yellow plus red) flowers with black centres. Flowers are lobster claw shaped, blooming in the summer.
Silver-gray leaves are divided into leaflets. Require full sun to partial shade, regular moisture, well drained soil. Frost tender, require 41 degree F minimum temperature. Good container plant.

It grows mainly as a Perennial, so it will last at least up to several years in its native climate. Normally grows with a ground covering habit. This plant tends to bloom in late summer.
