Chives 'Chenzo'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Chenzo is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Chenzo needs a sandy, clay and peat-rich soil with a ph of 5.2 to 8.3 (weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.51 inches (1.3 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 15°C / 59°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Chenzo about 28 days before your last frost date.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Chenzo is a hardy plant.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by mid summer.
