California Poppy 'Aurantiaca Orange King'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Aurantiaca Orange King needs a soil ph of 5.5 to 8.0 (weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil).

Try to ensure a gap of at least 5.85 inches (15.0 cm) when sowing to prevent overcrowding your seedlings.

These wild flowers were designated the state flower of California in 1903.³ There is no law that specifically protects the poppy, however California Penal Code Section 384a does require written permission from the landowner before picking flowers or digging any plant.³ Landowners may pick them at will on their own property with no worries.³
