How to grow Spinach 'Monnopa'

  • Full Sun

  • Low

Position in a full sun location and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Monnopa is thought of as half hardy, so although it can survive a small mild cold snap, it is wise to ensure that this plant is protected from frost damage. Planting Monnopa in loamy soil with a ph of between 6.0 and 7.0 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.

Growing Monnopa from seed

Sow 0.49 inches (1.25 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 3.12 inches (8.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 8°C / 46°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Monnopa about 60 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Monnopa

As Monnopa is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out (around 0°C / 32°F as a guideline) - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
