Although this vine can be grown from seeds it is easier to start new plants from cuttings. Likes fairly fertile, moist, well drained soil and watering regularly. It will grow vigorously if fertilized monthly with a liquid balanced fertilizer. (but does not need fertilized2) Provide support for climbing stems and prune to keep in bounds, after flowering.1

Bower of beauty Etymology

In Greek mythology Pandora was the one who opened a sealed box (commonly called “Pandora’s box”) that contained many bad things. She closed the box just before the worst of the worst escaped. This name refers to the many seeds that are released from the seed capsule.2

The Greek oides (resembling) and the Latin jasminum (jasmine).2
