Belonging to the Leptospermum genus, Manuka has a botanical name of Leptospermum scoparium. The botanical name epithet scoparium means 'like a twig broom'.Manuka is a flowering ornamental / flower evergreen, it will keep its leaves throughout the year. Normally grows with a bushy habit. This plant tends to bloom in mid spring.

Australia is believed to be where Manuka originates from.
