How to grow Jade 'Gollum'

  • Full Sun

  • Very Low

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water very sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Gollum is thought of as half hardy, so it will need protecting in periods of cold weather. Ideally plant in loamy and potting mix soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.1 and 7.8 as Gollum likes to be in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Gollum from seed

Gollum is easily grown from leaf cuttings. Select a nicely shaped leaf and detach it carefully from the plant. Allow the end to scab over over the next day or so and then dib the end into a gritty mix. It will root in a few weeks.

Transplanting Gollum

Pot on slowly, increasing the pot size only gradually. Use a gritty well drained mix

Ensure that temperatures are mild (minimum night temperatures should be around 10°C / 50°F) and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Gollum is a half hardy plant.
