How to grow Sweet Potato 'Lime'

  • Full Sun

Keep in mind when planting that Lime is thought of as tender, so it is really important to plant out well after your last frost date. Ideally plant in loamy, sandy and silty soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.1 and 7.8 as Lime likes to be in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Lime from seed

Will not come true from seed – sterile.

Sow at a depth of approx. 3.9 inches (10.0 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 1.46 feet (45.0 cm) between Sweet Potato plants.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Lime about 20 days after your last frost date.

Transplanting Lime

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Lime is a tender plant.
