Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Variegata is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Planting Variegata in sandy soil with a ph of between 5.6 and 7.5 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

As Variegata is tender, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
