Bearded iris 'Lady Friend'

Iris germanica

How to grow Bearded iris 'Lady Friend'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

As with other tall bearded iris, ‘Lady Friend’ thrives in full sun, performing best in a leaner, well-drained soil. Blooms will last longer with moderate watering, but the rhizomes do not like to sit in water.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Lady Friend is generally regarded as a very hardy plant, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions. Lady Friend needs a soil ph of 6.1 to 7.8 (weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil).

Growing Lady Friend from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.19 inches (3.05 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.99 inches (2.55 cm).

Transplanting Lady Friend

Lady Friend is very hardy, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.
