How to grow Garden Cress

Lepidium sativum

These fast growing plants need little except light and regular water. Best grown in cooler weather, either early spring, of late summer through fall.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.08 inches (0.2 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 12°C / 54°F to ensure good germination.

Harvesting may begin as soon as plants are 2" tall, to thin the planting to a spacing of 8". For the main crop begin cutting leaves as soon as the planting is 4" tall.
Good raw in salads or sandwiches to add a peppery flavor.
