Grows OUT in upwards. Leave her alone and dead head rose head only and give her lots of space. The blooms form on the last grown areas so watch the taking of flowers except in the heavy bloom season in the spring.Needs about 4-6 hours sun and will grow if shaded by another bush but will grow even lower and spread towards the sun.She appears to get stunted by too much sun(>8hours) Keep slightly damp but not soggy. She will stop blooming or leafing and tells you when she wants water.Blooms frost to frost in the south if you listen to her

Plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Lady Emma Hamilton is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will survive though longer winters with little or no damage. Lady Emma Hamilton requires a loamy soil with a ph of 4.5 - 8.0 - it grows best in moderately acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

As a hybrid variety, this plant will not reliably grow true to type from seed.

Transplanting Lady Emma Hamilton

Use Fresh garden or rose soil from a Soil Company. It is VERY particular. Get it right and she blooms frost to frost. If already in the ground add cow manure and bone meal mixed well and water lots. 1st year do not prune. Heavy feeder needing food about every 4-6 weeks.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Lady Emma Hamilton is a very hardy plant.
