Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Tokinashi is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Ensure your soil is loamy and clay and has a ph of between 5.5 and 6.8 as Daikon radish is a weakly acidic soil loving plant.

Growing Tokinashi from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.47 inches (1.2 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 13°C / 55°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Tokinashi

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Tokinashi is a tender plant.
