Enjoys a full sun position in your garden and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Purpureum is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Purpureum tends to grow best in a soil ph of between 6.1 and 7.8 meaning it does best in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Purpureum from seed

Ensure a distance of 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) between seeds when sowing - look to sow at a depth of approximately 0.25 inches (0.64 cm).

Transplanting Purpureum

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Purpureum is a hardy plant.
