Keep in mind when planting that Fathead is thought of as hardy, so Fathead will tend to go dormant or grow slowly over the winter months. Fathead requires a soil ph of 6.6 - 8.5 meaning it does best in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Fathead is a hardy plant.
