A straight-feathered FrizzleX hen, hatched early in January 2009 from a clutch of mixed eggs purchased by my friend Nikki T. The eggs came from Shiramani Farm in Gippsland and arrived at a time that Nikki had an unexpected queue of eggs waiting for her incubators. We had a broody hen at the time , so we ended up with the dozen.
When Dee hatched she had the same colour and conformation as one other chick in the batch… so they ended up being Tweedledum & Tweedledee.
Now Dee is thinner and lighter than her sibling… showing what my family has dubbed ‘Roadrunner’ conformation. She lays well and flies well too (one of the reasons she survived when foxes attacked in late Winter).
We are very fond of our Dee.
