Update – Bloomed for first time 26 March 2011 – single, rich purple color with lightly ruffled edge.

African Violet is known for growing to a height of approximately 30.0 cm (11.7 inches) so ensure you have enough space in your garden for this plant.
Your garden has indoor light - try to position in a dappled sun location instead.
Your garden has peat soil: try to position in a potting mix soil for the best result.
Remember to water moderately.
A soil ph of between 6.1 and 6.5 is ideal for African Violet as it does best in acidic soil so test your soil acidity often.
African Violet tends to be susceptible to INSV so keep a note of any developing symptoms.
