The only onion I’ve had no trouble growing. Unless you count the onions on my pantry shelf. Every spring you’ll see them spring up all over yards in the Bay Area. This year is the first year where I tried using it as an onion. It’s not bad. It’s a bit spongier than a commercial green onion would be, but it definitely has some onion flavor to add to your cookery if you’re out of them and need to nip out to the yard to see what weeds you can cook up.
