Happibun's scrappy varigated grass in a tub

Plant: Variegated manna grass (Glyceria maxima) | Variety: Variegata | 2 | Unhappy

I do remember being told that this grass was very vigorous and invasive, so I put it in a planter to keep it from taking over.

Each year it dies down over winter, I thought I’d killed it at first, but then each year it comes back again. I’m sure it needs filling out and repotting, so I suppose I’ll get round to it this year.

It is actually a pond marginal plant, so I don’t know how it has managed to survive in a largely unwatered container. I’ll see if it perks up if I water it this year :-)

I bought a couple of pots of this, and the variety listed on the label was “Strawberries & Cream”. Good to know it’s invasive! I’ll keep them in pots!

That helps, I’d forgotten what kind of grass it was exactly. Now I have a name :-)
