Plant: Japanese spiraea (Spiraea japonica) | Variety: Little Princess

  • Very Happy

Bloom: about 5/15/09. Some heavy but brief downpours have deflowered many plants, including ‘Little Princess’, washing away many a soft pink flower cluster. By 5/29, they look to have perhaps 1-2 more weeks of bloom time. They do rebloom but not as fully even if deadheaded.

History: Purchased 2 tiny 1 gallon plants from WalMart, around$3.50 ea., to fill in 4 existing ones. Did okay first year. By the second, it looked fully mature & quite happy. Almost no supplemental watering through her lifetime. Nice plant.
