Your fennel looks great! I have mine planted out as well. It has been out for some time now. How many plants did you put in? Did you plant it strictly as a ornamental, or are you going to use parts of it? Having an Italian background, I am excited to get this in my garden because I love to cook with it.

I love fennel, too. I planted about 3-4 seedlings in each group. So far I’ve planted 2 groups and have plans for about 4 more. I use it both as an edible and an ornamental. The foliage is a nice backdrop of feathery green around the garden and it tastes great too! I think you’ll really like it, nothing like homegrown fennel. You sound like a good cook, what kind of dishes do you use it in?

Tarrot, (italian pretzel), some types of italian cookies, I even thought of putting it in bread. I make challah, and I think it might be good in that too.
