This planting has been archived (harvested)

I sowed these a while back but i think they were too crowded to take off. So when I pulled up the rest of my fall/winter garden I left then in hoping they’d do better.

Wow. How’d you get your spinach to grow? I was never able to get spinach to work in SD. I never knew anyone else who could get it to work their either. I’m still reeling from the culture shock of it growing in NY.

Well, I’m not exactly sure :) I threw some seeds into an already over crowed box (the same one they are currently in) this winter when it was starting to take off with beets and carrots. The seeds sprouted but were kinda in shadow and crowded out, so they just hung out in there for like a few months not getting much bigger. When I pulled out the final beets and carrots, as the temp warmed up they started to take off. So not the ideal conditions or the time but somehow it worked!

BTW I used to live in Akron, Ohio (zone 5b) and I know the culture shock you are feeling but in reverse. I’m always way behind on when to plant stuff here, but I’m learning.
