Stripey_cat Stripey Cat's French Bean
Phaseolus vulgaris

Lidl’s cheap, dwarf yellow wax-pod seeds. A bit under two months to cropping. Rather mild bean flavour, but tender, heavy yielding, and showing no sign of stopping flowering yet. Because the beans are quite long on short, rather floppy plants, they tend to curl dramatically – next year I’ll try some support, although I don’t mind helical beans. Poor germination rate (less than 50%), but the seed was a couple of years old.
