Plant: Eggplant (Solanum melongena) | Variety: Black Beauty
This was a nursery transplant from the Farmer’s Market. It grows in the side yard portion of the vegetable garden. As of mid-September, I had gotten 2 usable eggplants and it has several more ripening.

I love that you are getting eggplants to grow in pots. I haven’t tried in the past but may have to look into it for next summer. Although I could plant in ground, the pots are very tempting to keep out larger pests and to adjust the water supply.

My eggplant was growing in a 14" terra cotta pot. We had a hard freeze last night, so I had to cut it down this AM. I wish I could have gotten a few more eggplants from it, but it did pretty well for my first time trying this.
