Janietta's Blue Mist Spiraea 'Longwood Blue'
Caryopteris x clandonensis
I dug up the shrubs that were originally in the front garden, leaving one, so that I would have room for perennials.
I put the other two around here, and have since divided them so that there are now 4 along the foundation of the house, plus I have given many away from the volunteers that came from the roots I missed in the front. This is one hardy plant.
Where is it?
Currently growing in Janietta's around the back of the house garden

Is your spiraea available for swap?
I have many astilbe’s, some of which are marked ‘fake spiraea’. I’m wondering if your spiraea would flourish either in my dappled sun garden or in the sunnier east or west side gardens. The pictures I found online of ‘Blue Mist Spiraea’ look more like a salvia variant than an astilbe.
Let me know.

I can send you some twigs…if they survive transport, you should have flowers this summer.
This shrub is cut back to six to eight inches above the ground every spring, as it flowers on new wood. They love the sun and tolerate shade. They are quite drought resistant once they are established. They don’t actually flower until late summer, but it is a really nice blue at a time when there aren’t many blues around in the garden. The foliage on mine is a nice silvery grey.
If you still want them, send me a PM.
