Satrina0 Satrina0's Pear 'Seckel'
Pyrus communis

These pears are tiny— about 2 or 3 inches across. Early in the season, they seemed grainy, but by the time they started falling from the tree, they were sweet and quite palatable. They first set fruit in 2007— we’re guessing that some kind of cross-pollinator was planted in the area, since pears aren’t supposed to self-pollinate.

The tree is puny— about 5 feet high. It’s still growing, but very very slowly.
