Delosperma ecklonis ‘Bright Eye’ – full sun, excellent drainage. Spreads aggressively. May through summer flowers. 4", 12 – 15" spacing (hah). Has to be dug out; any scraps left will grow. Unpleasantly brown in winter – put where it isn’t center stage.
This variety resembles but is smaller scale than the cooperi variety. It’s listed among weeds in some places, and I can see why – getting rid of it is tough.
The foliage is like fleshy sedum, and the flowers are like nearly flourescent daisies. It does look a bit tatty in winter, though.
