Not doing well in 2012. Gave up, moved trellis. If it shows again I think I’ll dig it and try it somewhere else.
I had one of these (from Fred Meyers) planted in a pot, and I planted it out but I missed some of the root, so then there were two. And I transplanted it again, but I missed some of the root, so then there were three. Sadly, none of my other clematis have been this forgiving or eager to increase.
(One at the back of the flowering quince, two in the front fenceline garden.)
