I love dahlias. Why do I have dahlias in my kitchen garden, you ask? Mostly because I like to have flowers in the garden, but also because I ran out of space in the places where my dahlias were supposed to be planted.

Chimacum Pumpkin is a small ball-form dahlia. I usually hate the color orange, but love orange dahlias— go fig. The flowers start out a kind of salmon-red color, then lighten to creamy orange around the edges of the petals. It’s very cool.
